Howelsen Hill Ski Area is one of the oldest ski areas in the United States, as well as the training grounds for numerous Olympic skiers. It boasts facilities such as a ski jumping complex, 15 runs, a chairlift and a snowboarding terrain park. People can use the area daily from early December until late March.

Home of champage powder and world champions Ann Battelle and Billy Kidd, Steamboat is rated as one of the five largest resorts in the country, spannig a complete mountain range. Steamboat offers 2,939 skiiable acres featuring 20 lifts with a total of 141 trails. Snowboarders may enjoy the Maverick Superpipe, which is one of the longest in North America. Some of the most remarkable light dry powder snow can be found here. The resort town at the base of the mountain features numerous choices for accommodation and apre ski entertainment.
