From picnicking to river rafting, the Routt National Forest provides visitors with a range of activities. Spanning the Colorado-Wyoming border, the park contains popular destinations, such as the Steamboat Lake State Park, a bounty of scenic drives and numerous lakes and rivers for fishing. Camping is scattered throughout the forest and includes group areas and rental cabins. Additional activities include hunting, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hiking and ATVing.

Enjoy a picnic or relax at Yampa River Botanic Garden in Steamboat Springs. Inside are a bounty of gardens, including a children's area, a herb garden, a tree garden, a pioneer garden and a reflecting pond. Other areas grow a variety of native plants and provide plenty of areas to sit and trails to stroll through.
